We're Ladakh-based, not just Ladakh-focused.

Most travel companies selling Ladakh trips are running the show from Delhi, Mumbai, or a call centre somewhere far from the mountains. Himalayan Shepherd isn't one of them. We're a locally owned and operated travel company headquartered in Leh, and we've been on the ground here since 2000 — not managing Ladakh from a distance, but living it.

That difference shows up in the small things. We know which pass is likely to be closed after a fresh snowfall, which guesthouse in Nubra actually has hot water in October, and which villages beyond the standard tourist circuit are worth the detour. It's the kind of knowledge you only pick up by being here year-round, not by reading the same ten blogs everyone else copies from.

Whatever brings you to Ladakh — a family holiday, a honeymoon, a bike trip along Khardung La, a photography run chasing the light at Pangong, or a proper high-altitude trek — our team plans it around how you actually want to travel, not a fixed template. And once you land in Leh, we handle the parts that usually stress people out: permits, transport, accommodation, local guides, and a real person to call if plans need to change. You get to focus on the trip. We handle the logistics.
